Inspired by Hockney: 3 French Shops
A commission I really wanted, but couldn't quite figure out the angle. At last, inspiration struck when I remembered that little French shop picture by Hockney, Alimentation – Go ogle it, it's well sweet – and it seemed I could exploit his treatment of this mysterious isolated little building.
These are rough sketches, but I hope the finished articles have the same cheeky sense of style.

ReplyDeleteThanks darlings. Quite a good gallery likes them, so i might do a few more. I love doing them.
ReplyDeleteNice pics. Feel I should tell you that although Hockney's final picture shows an isolated building, the sketches show something rather different and in truth it's not isolated at all. How do I know ? I live in it.. No, really !
